BETA AND NEAR-BETA ALLOYS

The beta alloys are readily heat treatable to high strengths, generally weldable, and have good creep resistance to intermediate temperatures. Excellent formability can be expected in the solution treated condition. Beta-type alloys also have good combinations of properties in sheet and heavy strength airframe components, fasteners, springs, pipe and commercial and consumer products.
